Walmart Inc. said Monday that it expects to grow its drone delivery service with drone operator Wing to 150 more stores in 2027. The Bentonville-based retailer has been working with Wing, owned by Google's parent company Alphabet, in trials since about 2022.

The delivery option was first available in Kings Mountain and was recently added at the Shelby Walmart. Jessie Poole-Strang, communications manager for Wing, said in late January that the addition was part of a major expansion, and they set up a new drone hub at the location at 705 E. Dixon Blvd.
