Discord adding age verification starting
Digest more
Discord has announced plans to start requiring age authentication for certain users in order to access 18+ channels, servers, and even message requests.
Beginning in March, all accounts will have a ‘teen-appropriate experience by default.’ Discord announced on Monday that it’s rolling out age verification on its platform globally starting next month, when it will automatically set all users’ accounts to a “teen-appropriate” experience unless they demonstrate that they’re adults.
Discord has announced a new teen-by-default stance, meaning that every user will be treated as a teenager – with the corresponding limitations – until they complete an age-verification process that could include facial scanning or presentation of ID.
