March 1 (Reuters) - Amazon's cloud unit, AWS, said on Sunday that power to its data center in the United Arab Emirates was shut down temporarily after objects struck the facility, triggering sparks and a fire.
Amazon has confirmed that three Amazon Web Services (AWS) data centers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and one in Bahrain have been damaged by drone strikes, causing an extensive outage that is still affecting dozens of cloud computing services.
One of Amazon’s cloud data centers in the United Arab Emirates was temporarily shut down after being struck by unidentified objects after Iran unleashed strikes on the country. The company said the objects caused sparks and a fire and its AWS data center on Sunday (March 1).
